As a volunteer Steward you are integral to our Festival operations and whilst some positions require you to be the eyes and ears of the Festival, you also act as our ambassadors, information points and venue managers. You are often the first point of contact with the public and you can make a difference to their Black Horse Festival experience. In return for you efforts you will receive a Full Weekend Pass with camping.

Stewarding is a great way to get involved and the reward is the Festival's future.

We do ask that you take your position as a Black Horse festival Steward seriously and meet the commitment of your shifts- if you are placed on a rota then we expect you to work the hours allocated to you- anyone who fails to honour their stewarding commitments without a valid reason will have their pass revoked and any future applications will be turned down. Don't be a weak link, do be a strong and valuable member of a great time.

Don't forget to stick a photo and if anyone has First Aid or Medical training certificate please send a copy in with your application.

You are eligible if:

You are aged 18 or over
You are committed to be part of a team
You are willing to work approximately 16 hours spread over the weekend. No-one is expected to work without a break for a cuppa, visit the toilet etc.
In return you will get a free Adult Full weekend Pass and plus free camping.


Application Process

In mid April we will let you know if your application has been successful. If you are not selected this year you will be eligible to buy an Adult Full weekend pass at the early bird discount price providing your application form has been received by 1st April 2010. In early May we will tell you which team you are on and what your hours and duties are.

Terms & Conditions For Volunteer Stewards.

We ask that you priorities you stewarding duties. It may be that some of your shifts clash with events that you would like to see and we ask that this is dealt with at the festival within your team. Please be aware that it is not always possible to change rotas to suit everyone's request.

Application forms received are reviewed and placed in the most suitable areas of work, taking your preferences into account where possible. The information provided on your application is taken seriously but no guarantees can be made to meet your request.

Due to insurance and health and safety considerations, we are unable to accept anyone needing to keep their children with them while they are working.

No animals are allowed on site except dogs to assist people with disabilities.

You will be expected to be vigilant and health and safety conscious on shift.

If camping, you will have to abide by the terms and conditions of the campsite.

Drinking alcohol and smoking whilst on duty or whilst working alongside customers and colleagues is not allowed at anytime.
