A unique mixture of folk, roots, blues and world music
in the glorious East Sussex countryside
We have been putting together a quality line up for the 21st Black Horse Music Festival. If you have been before all the usuals will be there and a few new added features.
The Black Horse pub has had a long overdue make-over. Debbie, our new landlady, is looking forward to her very first festival. You must try her home cooking!
If you haven't been before, it's time to visit one of the most respected festivals in the calendar. Blues, Folk & World Music mix, which the Festival is uniquely renowned for, plus the Monday afternoon young bands session and the famous Monday night party night.
Being our 21st Festival, we have made a positive move to book acts causing a bit of a stir on their relative scenes which will bring a vibrant feel to the festival plus a couple of old favourites to get you bopping around the marquee.
Visit www.myspace.com/blackhorsefestival2009 to sample some of the sounds and YouTube clips of the acts heading towards the 2009 festival.
The Black Horse Festival Committee
For this year, we have got our very own special ale for the festival, brewed by Shepherd Neame which you will be able to buy at the festival and NOWHERE ELSE! This is what Shepherd Neames master brewer Stewart says about it:
"This champion ale is a real black beauty, brewed with a delicious combination of the finest maris otter pale ale malt, black brown and crystal malt, with the addition of pin head oats as a tribute to the Black Horse. This complex beer, with a delightful variety of malty, fruity flavours, is complimented by generous quantities of cascade hops providing a powerful grapefruit citrus aroma and flavour, unusual in a dark beer.
Do not fall at the first fence as you gallop to the bar to sample this unique brew.
Another winner from the Shepherd Neame stable"
